Nicole Ari Parker, an American actor, who has been featured in films and television as well as in stage productions, is known for portraying Teri Joseph, a fiery attorney in the show on Showtime called Soul Food. In the years following her marriage, she is also known as Nikki Kodjoe. As a child, she was a naturally talented actor. At a Maryland contest with high school students, she took home the award for the Best Actress. Alongside her involvement at the theater as well as with the Washington Ballet Company. Contractor who was born and raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai prior to turning 7, had traveled all over the world and had a taste of diverse cultures when he was a kid. She attended boarding school in London between seven and nine years old, then her family moved towards Toronto, Canada, where she lived the bulk of her early childhood and adulthood. Contractor trained in classical ballet in Toronto. She was also a star academically. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts which was a highly specialized high school in which she studied more than just dance but also theater. Contractor, who had been dancing for nearly 10 years by the time she was, decided she was ready to pursue acting. Following her graduation from high school Contractor received a scholarship from The University of Toronto to pursue a dual major in psychology and sociology. In addition, she obtained a Master's degree in Theatre. Contractor got her first part after a year of university. The play was well-received in the 92 plays she appeared in. She won the 2002 award for the most outstanding production of the Year by Canadian critics. The conservatory at Stratford is home to eight males, four women as well as a few others for a weeks of crash courses. Her place in the upcoming production was secured, and she won the role in the play as Hermia.
